Kathleen Joyce Burgos, Class of 2023 / Year 2 Video Productions
Kathleen was able to experience being a part of a school news production for the first time last year. The more she involved herself behind the camera, the more she was assured that this just might be a career worth pursuing. If Kathleen is not in the editing room, you might be able to find her reading a book, writing, dying her hair while listening to her Spotify playlist on shuffle, or in a deep sleep next to her cat.Â

Lindsey Dimaya, Class of 2025 / Year 1 Video Productions
Lindsey has always been interested in Video Productions ever since being part of the lower school’s digital media club. Since then, Lindsey wanted to be a part of Lancers Lately and dreams of some day working in the entertainment industry, whether it be in front of or behind the camera. Besides that, you can find Lindsey performing onstage, playing card games with friends, making some doodles, or focusing on streaming.

Samantha Europa, Class of 2023 / Year 3 Video Productions
Samantha has enjoyed her time as a Video Productions student these past two years and has re-enrolled a third time to gain more experience in front of and behind the camera. When she isn’t working on a brand new video, you can find her dancing hula, finding the latest trends for new segments, watching baseball, or listening to music. Samantha wants people to remember her as someone who strived for perfection.Â

After being part of the yearbook staff for three years, Sydney decided to step out of her comfort zone and try something new! She's excited to bring her camera knowledge and use it for the Lancers Lately. When she's not learning about the many forms of photography, you can find her on an airplane, dancing hula, or on the basketball court.

Llana Lee, Class of 2024 / Year 1 Video Productions
Llana was interested in being a part of the Lancers Lately newscast after seeing it in lower school, and she thought it would be fun. She would like to use this experience to learn more about Video Productions and editing. She is currently looking for different opportunities to figure out what she wants for her future, and during her free time, enjoys gaming, listening to music, watching edits on TikTok, and chatting with friends and family. Llana wants people to remember her as someone who is imaginative and helpful.Â
Paige Lum, Class of 2024 / Year 1 Video Productions
Paige has always been interested in being a part of the Lancers Lately newscast since she was in lower school and even made joining one of her high school goals. She loves to edit videos and clips of different shows during her free time and uploads those edits onto her Instagram account. She dreams to become a media editor one day, along with being a teacher. If she isn’t editing, you can often find her in the cafeteria after school, playing air riflery and talking to friends, or just relaxing with her family at home.Â
Nikki Matsubara, Class of 2025Â / Year 1 Video Productions
Nikki has wanted to be a part of a broadcast since she was 10. Nikki is very interested in becoming a newscaster for a news station when she becomes older. A fun fact about Nikki is that she’s into K-POP, listening to music, sleeping, and editing videos with odd sound effects. Nikki wants to further her editing skills in Video Productions and wants to be able to explore new opportunities this year. Nikki wants people to remember her for her dope editing skills.

Reina Moriguchi, Class of 2023 / Year 1 Video Productions
Reina always wanted to be part of Lancers Lately, but it never felt like the right time. A senior this year, Reina can finally indulge in her interest in the entertainment industry. She hopes to work in film or event production in the future. As a part of the crew, Reina looks forward to further developing her editing skills and gaining real-life experience in every aspect of the field, from anchoring to producing, editing, and scriptwriting. Outside the classroom, you’ll likely find her editing videos, listening to music, watching football, bowling, or catching a movie at the theater. Reina hopes people will remember her as someone who puts her best effort into everything she does. She also strives to be someone people can always go to for help.
Rainna Trout Class of 2025 / Year 1Â Video Productions
When Rainna was a kid, she would watch a lot of Disney Channel, which led to her interests in podcasts, being on camera, or being part of a small set. With Video Productions, Rainna is finally able to live out that dream of being on camera. In the future, she hopes to have her own podcast with her friends or to be on television. She looks forward to using her creative skills. When Rainna isn’t in school, she’s most likely out at the beach boogie boarding, on the bus listening to music, or at the mall spending all of her money. A fun fact about Rainna is that her favorite music artist is SZA. Rainna wants people to remember her for her outgoing personality.
Amber Wolfe, Class of 2023 / Year 2 Video Productions
Amber has always had a passion for media and film. She was part of the crew last year and very much enjoyed it. Amber placed second in the state for a “Hiki No” video she produced with recent graduate Holden Aniya. Amber hopes to pursue a career in either sports or film, or both - through Sports Journalism. You can catch Amber playing indoor and beach volleyball, hiking, going vinyl shopping, and going to the beach. This year, Amber wants to input more of her outgoing spirit into the show!Â

Annaliese Brown, Class of 2023 / Year 1 Video Productions
Annaliese wishes to improve her filming skills and believes being on the Lancers Lately crew will open more opportunities for her. When Annaliese isn’t at school, you can find her on or in the water, especially sportfishing! Annaliese wants to be remembered as someone who always stood up for what was right and a leader.Â

Julia became interested in the film industry after interning at Hawaii News Now. She enjoyed watching what went on behind the scenes and developed an interest in anchoring. She even wants to minor in journalism. Outside of the classroom, Julia loves to dance, hang out with friends, and spend quality time with family. Julia hopes to be remembered as a very happy and kind person.Â

To encourage other girls to try new things like her, Je t'aime hopes to create a positive environment. With this being her first year, she can’t wait to pitch fun ideas to spice up the Lancers Lately and create bonds with her teachers and classmates. Je t’aime loves playing volleyball, going to the beach, having sleepovers with friends, being with family, and sleeping!

One of Malaika’s biggest goals is to obtain an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). Since she was little, she has always had a love for film and music. This class will help her learn more about the film, which will help her be successful in the future. She also loves to help and care for stray cats.Â

Mrs. Alyssa Myers, AdviserÂ
Mrs. Myers has been the Academy's Video Productions teacher for the past 8 years. She also teaches Journalism and is the school's Educational Technology Coordinator. Before teaching, she worked at the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Hawaii News Now and often freelanced for local publications. When she's not in the classroom, she enjoys surfing, shopping, and adventuring with her husband and 4-year-old daughter Liv. She looks forward to seeing what this year's Lancers Lately crew will bring to the newscast!
