A MESSAGE FROM OUR CAMPAIGN leadership
For nearly 112 years, Sacred Hearts Academy, Hawaii’s largest all-girls school has been at the forefront of girls’ education. Founded in 1909, the Academy continues to be guided by the presence and philosophy of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts, focusing on academic excellence, applied learning and Catholic and Christian values.
As we look forward to the next 100 years, a bold strategic vision has been firmly established with guidance from our Board of Directors. We have launched the Building our Future Capital Campaign to support students’ academic, artistic and athletic achievements. To implement our strategic vision, four pillars are at the center of our planning.
As we identified the projects, these pillars served as guideposts for our work:
- Girl-Focused Education
- Charism and Community
- Allies and Resources
- Visibility and Value
In service of this vision, we aim to transform spaces across campus to enhance the Academy experience for all on campus. The campaign goal of $3.1 million will be allocated to eight campus renovation projects.
Sacred Hearts Academy leaders are fully committed to executing our strategic vision and to the success of our campaign. We invite your support of our efforts in Building Our Future for our many students today and for generations to come.

Capital Campaign Improvements
Rich in Tradition and Promise
For nearly 112 years, Sacred Hearts Academy, Hawaii’s largest all-girls school, has been at the forefront of girls education. The Academy opened in 1909 in the heart of Kaimuki with 53 high school students and 10 faculty. All of the teachers were Sacred Hearts Sisters, and the Academy continues to be guided by the presence and philosophy of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts, focusing on academic excellence, applied learning and Catholic and Christian values.
The Legacy Continues
The Academy continues to prepare our graduates to be competent, compassionate women, who will have a positive impact where they live and work. Today, approximately 700 students attend Sacred Hearts Academy in preschool through Grade 12, from all areas of Oahu and several foreign countries. Our goal for each of our students is to deliver a quality school experience second to none that develops the mind, heart and soul of each girl.
