The Academy counselors work in conjunction with teachers and parents in a student-centered approach aimed at helping each child develop academically, spiritually and emotionally. They are advocates for the students in grades Pre-School to 12, work to ensure each student succeeds in the classroom, develop short and long-term plans for overcoming academic challenges, arrange for tutoring sessions when needed and teach organization and study skills.
One counselor works with the Academy's Lower School students; a Junior High counselor is responsible for the seventh and eighth graders; and grade level counselors follow a student from grades nine to 11. At grade 12, the college counselor steps in the assist seniors in completing the college admission process.
