Membership on the Academy’s Intermediate Speech Team is open to students in grades 7 to 12 and is geared towards introducing and training participants in categories for competition. In this capacity, members of the team concentrate on interpretive events, including Storytelling, Group, Dramatic, Humorous and Duo Interpretation and Poetry Reading.

While honing their speaking skills, Speech Team members participate in about four intermediate festivals throughout the year.

Intermediate Team members join their High School counterparts in debate events.
