Second graders shop for charity

Recently, the second grade classes learned about developing and running a successful business by interviewing shopkeepers at Kahala Mall, creating a business, giving an oral presentation and setting up an actual store.

Through the generous donations of parents and friends, the stores were well stocked and ready for business. The students received customers ranging from senior kindergartners to sixth graders.

Business proceeds from shop sales were donated to the Hawaiian Humane Society. On behalf of the second graders, Mariana Sablan, Shaylynn Colunga, Ariana Oshiro and Kaily Sakai presented Kelly Boudreau of the Humane Society with a check for $500.
