Students in the fourth, fifth and sixth grade learn a variety of public-speaking skills and work individually, as well as groups, on poems, stories and readers’ theater pieces during participation in the Lower School Speech Club.

Members meet weekly to prepare for performances and speech festivals held throughout the year at various locales, including the Maryknoll, Sacred Hearts Academy and Punahou Intermediate Speech Festivals.

Speech Club participants also sponsor Poetry Breaks and produce an annual Showcase of Members’ Pieces.
